Brisbane to Canberra and more

Went to a St Andrews staff luncheon and walked back through the city and saw the knitting exhibit in the streets. A take off from a one at Warwick, but enjoyed looking. Put a contract on a house and it fell through, and then kept looking, was getting desperate when we found a place at Moorooka with a 'granny' flat for me, not that I'm really a granny but it will be easy to lock up when I want to travel.

Decisions, decisions, the family here are moving to Fiji and did I really want to stay on in Canberra by myself, (too cold and not really my preferred living place)
It took effort and a garage sale to get them packed up for Fiji and had had lots to move back to Brisbane. My car was also loaded with boxes and plants that I had originally moved south, the ones that survived the winter that is. Had to make a quick trip up the coast and then start house hunting.

Had a meal at the Banana Leaf a Sri Lankan place in Canberra, great to revisit the food. Just like old times.
Also gave a couple of lectures at the U3A which I had just joined, Shared my knowledge of travelling to New York and through Canada and USA to an appreciative audience

Caught the train back to Gosford where I had left my car as we journeyed north, took a drive through St Albans where the first convict family had lived and then continued on to Canberra. Love the ease of travel with 'Tom'

We drove to Fingal Head again, to look at the basalt rocks and hadn't walked on the beach before, it would be a great place to stay. Also visited the Currumbin Rock pools, something I have been wanting to do for 20 years, amazed at the courage of the young people diving off the high rocks.

Had few days on the Gold Coast in fact I thought I was in New York when I saw this sign, but no it would have been winter there and I was enjoying the sunshine
