The South Coast

I went down the South Coast to visit a relative and enjoy the rocks and scenery before meeting up with Chris and family at Narooma and travelled back via a scenic road to Canberra

The boys were amazed to see an echnida crossing the road and heading up the mountain, it tried to hide from us.

This frog tried to hitch a ride back to Canberra but we thought it would miss its home if it came with us.

A Narooma, it was cloudy but still enjoyed walking around the rocks.

The rocks at Culburra Beach were different, Mostly flat and smooth so easy walking, but odd shapes and large inlets.

Thought I'd found the footprint of a prehistoric something, other marks like this were perfectly round.

I went through Mittagong on the way to Culburra and stopped for the Fitzroy Falls. The Flame trees and Silky Oaks were in flower along the way. Even with all the interesting things overseas, I still marvel at the beauty of Australia.

More New York and back to Canberra

I thought the weather would be a continuation of summer in New York when I got back at the end of September, but it was still cold in Canberra. Just what the tulips at Floriade needed to make their usual display

Mike, Annette and Jac were visiting New York and saw sights from a Brooklyn viewpoint.

Just happened to be walking past Bryant Park to get the photo of one of the 'Fashion Week' styles,

We took the train and ferry to Fire Island, about an hour from Brooklyn, we needed a fire, the wind blowing in from the Atlantic was so cold. There were clear white and pale pink pebbles along the beach, lots of migratory birds, crab shells and a number of seagulls with only one leg.

Where in the world will I eat tonight. An Indian thali plate from Lexington Ave. Last week it was Mexican in Park Slopes. The week before it was Pizza at the shop just near us in Brooklyn. Beyonce eats there. She even signed autographs for us. Its rated 2nd best pizza in New York, we tried the place rated best, and it didn't get our vote.

One night returning from Manhattan, we got in the last subway carriage as we usuly do and it was party mode, We could have joined them when they left the train. Check it out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subway_party. It certainly gave a glow to the other passengers as well.
