Salt Lake City to Brisbane

Was just getting the hang of the street system in Salt Lake City, all streets are North, South, East and West of the Temple Square. Had a coffee, not much open on Sundays and went by light rail to the Art Gallery at the University.



I wasn't expecting the phone call I received at the Gallery. My mother had had a massive heart attack. I sat and had a cry, looking at this painting. Next morning I cancelled my rail bookings, booked a flight from SLC to Los Angeles and back to Brisbane.


I had planned to go to Salt Lake, but only saw it from the airplane window.

Mum was still here when I arrived in Brisbane and we said all the important things before she died.

I will return to do the rail trip again,but have to wait till next year for warm weather. But am planning other travel to other places.
