Day 8 Doolin to Salthill
On the ferry to Innishere one of the Arran Islands. I viewed the sights of the island from a horse and cart with my own driver telling me about life on the island. Well worth the 20 euro price.
Water water everywhere
On rocks at the start of the Burren. Climate change from ages ago. The story says the area was cleared and overfarmed and the soil washed away.
The rccks are just like a moon scape. I did climb to the top of a small hill and it was just more rockscape.
It took me ages to find this Dolmen, I went the wrong road and then took the right road but turned back thinking I had missed it and then drove back and it was less than half a mile from where I had turned back. When I said to the man answering quesstions that it was hard to find, he said yes, we don't want tourists here. How Irish is that. The rock at the front on the ground was originally on the top, it weighs over 1 ton. It had to be replaced because it was becoming dangerous. Just how did they lift those rocks?
